Another great weekend for our GTP players. The Delgado brothers continuing their fine form with both James & Andrew winning Greensboro National L3 Select singles in 14s & 12s. Andrew also took the doubles crown with his partner Nick Mangiapane. James teamed up with fellow GTP player Braden Shick and were finalist in the boys 14s doubles. In the girls 12s doubles Kendall Parr & Carolina Williams teamed up and made it all the way to the final. Congratulations to all that played this weekend. Keep up the good work.
Extremely proud of all 20 players that represented the GTP program this weekend in the USTA southern level 1A championship. Many great performances but our standout performances go to Andrew & James Delgado, Boyeni Keenan & Brianna Baldi. In the boys 14s singles James & Boyeni made it an all GTP final with James coming out as the champion with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Boyeni. James went on to win the boys 14s doubles as well as picking up the sportsmanship award. Both players playing some high level, hard hitting tennis throughout the weekend. His brother Andrew Delgado also had a great tournament in the boys 12s division by sweeping the singles and doubles title by playing some exceptional tennis with great energy & passion. Winning the match with a Boris Becker forehand volley dive winner!! Not bad for an 11 year old!
In the girls 12s Brianna Baldi showed what a great fighter & grit she possesses. Brianna made all the way to the final before coming short to a stiff opponent from Georgia. Again another 11 year old showing quality characteristics of what it’s going to take to becoming a champion. Brianna then went on to team up with fellow GTP teammate Reagan Harris in the girls 12s doubles. The duo unseeded made all the way to the finals before losing 8-2, but both taking out some very strong team along the way. Very impressed with all our GTP players in how well they handled all the challenges and obstacles they faced. The overcame these adversities with great professionalism & toughness and represented their families, the GTP program, coaches & themselves to the highest level. Well done all!!
Seth and Patrick both worked very hard to make it to the finals of boys 10’s this past weekend in the Greensboro L5 tournament. They had an amazing finals match vs each other with Seth coming away with the victory. Seth and Patrick played doubles together in the tournament as well and finished in second place!!
Other players from our Junior Elite Program took home trophies as well. Aubrey Effler won Girl’s 10’s and played some very strong tennis. Kyla Denton received 3rd place and Lyndsay won the Consolation Finals. In girls 10’s doubles Alysse Boykins and Lyndsay Lambis took 1st place playing two great doubles matches. Duncan Moore received 3rd place in the Boys 12’s division and had a hard fought 3rd place match! A great showing from some of our hard working Junior Elite players last weekend!
Hugh Knapp had a great tournament win in Florence at the Pepsi Junior Open STA L3. Hugh won the boys 18s. Ana Keating had a great win here in Greensboro at the Lake Jeanette L4. Way to play, GTP!

We are so proud of our travel team, who competed in Macon, GA and Mobile, AL in the Boys and Girls 12s and 14s Southern Winter L1 Championships!
