GTP Juniors Find Success at the Southern Closed

The Southern Closed Tournament is held all over the Southeast Region and is the biggest tournament in the South. Our junior players were everywhere!

Boys and Girls 12s played in Cary, NC and we had a great deal of success there, with James Delgado winning the boys 12s! Congrats on a great tournament, James! Other notable players in Boys 12s included Andrew Delgado who had several good wins.

The girls also fared well in Cary. Sophie Strugnell made it to the Quarterfinals, Vennmukiil Mathivanan made it to the round of 16 and Elizabeth Weidl made it to the round of 32.

The Boys and Girls 14s were played in Macon, Georgia with Drew Broadstreet, Harrison Gwynn and Payton Gatti posting good results. Carolyn Ansari fell to the number one seed in the round of 16 and won the consolation finals! Congratulations, Carolyn on a great tournament!

Our 16s were played in Little Rock, Arkansas. Both Colin Shick and Mark Fujino made it to the round of 32, and both got wins in the back draw.

Congratulations to all of our junior tournament players. We look forward to hearing about more wins this summer!
